According to the latest British Foreign Office advice Poland is among countries with a low terrorism risk. In Europe the safest places to go on holiday are Poland, Lichtenstein, Slovenia, Malta and Iceland.
Between 2006 and 2013 worldwide terrorism caused around 130 000 fatalities. Following the attacks in France and Belgium popular holiday destinations such as France and Spain are on high terror alert. There is a moderate threat from terrorism in Italy and a high terrorism risk in Turkey because there have been serious attacks in Istanbul this year. In Greece visitors should be aware that cash points and banks can be potentially closed due to ongoing financial crisis.

The biggest issue for many holidaymakers is not where to travel but whether you should travel at all. The British Foreign Office has warned that the UK interests and British citizens are threatened with terrorist attacks. Islamist groups or individuals are motivated by the conflict in Syria and Iraq. That’s why it would be a good idea to reconsider your travel plans.
